Neal:
I really enjoyed reading your treatise on beginning woodturning. Your comments were entertaining and useful, as I am just starting out in woodturning.

Hi Neal;
I am a WWF member and I have enjoyed visiting your web site. I posted a thread on fineals yesterday and another member referred me to your site for more information and inspiration.
I will respond to him that your site is fantastic and he should post his information about your site on the WWF forum. Other members are interested in fineals and will benefit from seeing your models of neat clean lines.
I noted your semi open piece with a pierced top and I really like it. I am going to use it for INSPIRATION with a Cherry blank that I mounted today to a waste block. I hope you do not mind being used for inspiration. I can only hope that my piece comes out half as nice as yours.
Thanks for posting great information on your web site.

Thanks for a wonderful site, and sharing you knowledge. You work is beautiful and I especially like your finial work. I just aquired my first lathe (Shopsmith) and am working on my first projects. Your site inspires me, and helps me to understand more about this art. I'm looking forward to developing my skills so I can create gifts for friends, and pieces for my house. I have to admit I'm struggling a little, but working on it. Last night I started a spalted elm bowl that's really soft. I had difficulty avoiding tear out. I imagine it's the need for better tool sharpening, and experience.
Thanks!

I just read through the article on introduction to turning, which lathe to buy, accessories, etc. Clearly well thought out advice with little prejudice and a lot of value! I'm really impressed with your clear and helpful advice, and I love the interjected humor. Also read your material on photographing your work a few days back....while some of it is over my head, I did enjoy it, and learned a lot from it. I'm looking forward to putting it to good use. Gallery is great too! Nice work. Also liked the photo/lesson on the donut chuck. Lot of meat on this site. I have the same lathe as you, but mine is much less intelligent and talented. My feeling is, "One good turn....gives me the courage to give it another go! Your efforts are appreciated!!

I am a member of the Greater Vancouver Woodturners Guild, and as member at large on our executive I am working to improve our newsletter with a feature of 'Turning Site of the Month'. My hope is to highlight to our members, particularly newer turners, the wealth of information and the wonderful resources that folks like yourself have taken the time to organize and so freely share with anyone who may appreciate the wonders of wood.
Please let me know if you have any objections in our featuring your site in an upcoming newsletter.
Past publications may be found at http://www.gvwg.ca/newsletters.html

Hi,
As a person in woodturning now since 2005 and in photography in the 70's and 80's with films I have enjoy this a lot. It did get me to think back at light control and the need to learn a lot more about my New NikonD3100. Your presentation was easy to inderstand and very informative. Thank you very much

I enjoyed seeing your woodturnings. I noticed that you had a couple of turnings or Texas Ebony. I just had my first taste of this wood and, WOW is it hard! My project turned great as did yours but it was really hard to work with.

Your work is beautiful. It must leave you with a very "content" feeling when you finish your piece to enjoy. I would have a hard time letting go of any of them.
