About the Artist

Welcome and thanks for visiting!

Having been raised with antiques I've always had a special fondness for handmade bowls and vessels.  The forms found in early 20th century pottery such as Van Briggle, Rookwood, Weller, etc are particular favorites.

In 2004 I began dabbling in woodworking and quickly gravitated towards the lathe.  In woodturning I found a unique and creative outlet for my love of pottery forms and my newly discovered passion for nature's perfect canvas: wood.  Each piece of wood has it's own personality and character.  One never knows what surprises Mother Nature has hidden inside.

I operate from a home-based studio in Fort Worth, Texas and currently own two wood lathes:  a Jet 1442 and a Jet 1014.  The bulk of my work is in hollow form vessels, a style closest to the pottery designs mentioned above.  But the driving thought behind all of my turnings is to highlight and showcase the natural beauty of the wood.

I hope you enjoy your visit. Please check back often as new work is continually being added.
